Residents can now grow cannabis for recreational use at home, but still have no way to legally buy or sell it.

Medical marijuana sales are coming to Georgia eventually, but a bill that lawmakers passed late Tuesday contains substantial hurdles before the state’s 8,400 registered patients can buy the drug.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to hold a public hearing on May 31 in Maryland to explore issues around products containing cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds such as cannabidiol (CBD).

With a majority of states in the country enacting medical marijuana laws, cannabis in the workplace has become a hot button issue for business owners seeking to fashion appropriate workplace regulations for lawful cannabis users.

The U.S. territory of Guam legalized the adult use of marijuana on Thursday when Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero signed the contentious recreational cannabis bill into law.

It’s an unanticipated hiccup for the rapidly growing hemp industry, which relies on interstate trucking to transport hemp from farms to processing labs that extract the compound cannabidiol, or CBD, from the raw plant material.
