Washington-based cannabis advocacy group Twenty22Many is doing its part to provide medical marijuana to military veterans suffering from PTSD.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is under pressure to ease restrictions on veterans’ access to medical marijuana to help treat pain and other ailments.

The lack of federal regulations for the use of pesticides on marijuana plants is putting consumers at risk, the nonprofit organization Beyond Pesticides said in an action alert.

"There's a lot of advocacy out there [among veterans], and I think if we collectively get together, we can all speak with one voice, and I'm using my film as that channel."

People who are approved to buy and use medical marijuana in Ohio say the tightly regulated program has resulted in costly products that are not easy to get.

"They can get off many of their expensive meds and that is very appealing to seniors."
